Summerside Launches Business Survey

City of Summerside Launches Survey To Establish Business Priorities
Posted on 10/18/2024

SUMMERSIDE, PE - The City of Summerside's Economic Development Department has officially launched its fourth Business Retention & Expansion (BR + E) survey. The survey aims to gather insights into the future plans and needs of local businesses, as well as how business owners and managers perceive the community as a business environment. Data from this biennial survey will help track trends and guide future economic development efforts, ensuring alignment with the top priorities of local businesses.

The Department has partnered with Deloitte Canada, an economic development and market research consulting firm, to assist with the project. Deloitte will work alongside Economic Development staff to review the completed surveys, identifying the challenges and opportunities facing the local business community. Businesses are encouraged to participate in the telephone and email surveys and may be contacted between October 21st and November 5th. The survey is expected to take no longer than 15 minutes to complete.

"Supporting business retention and expansion is the core focus of the City’s Economic Development Department," says Mike Thususka, Director of Economic Development. "Our priority is to ensure that local businesses receive the support they need. This survey provides valuable feedback on the opportunities, challenges, and obstacles they encounter. We are dedicated to assisting companies through our network of resources and services."

The project launched in October 2024 and is scheduled to conclude in November 2024, when all survey results will be gathered and analyzed. To learn more, visit: bit.ly/Summerside-EcoDev
