Councillor Norma McColeman served three terms as a Summerside Councillor (2000–2010) prior to her previous election on November 3, 2014.

She was most recently sworn in on November 17, 2014. In 2011, she was federally appointed to serve as a member on the National Council of Welfare in Ottawa.

She has over 25 years of experience as a team leader, workshop facilitator, motivational speaker, and leadership mentor in the areas of personal lifestyle wellness, employ-ability skills, personal development, and outreach counseling.

She has served as family violence prevention Outreach Coordinator since 2000 with PEI Family Violence Prevention Services, working directly with victims of domestic abuse and violence and facilitating support programs, prevention training workshops, and community educational awareness.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Norma lives with her husband of over forty years in Summerside.

She offers a multifaceted background and experience, recognized leadership, and advocacy support for Summerside residents.

  • Was an emergency foster parent home for numerous teens
  • Presented with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal in 2013 in recognition of her advocacy and leadership work
