Swimming Lessons

Learn to Swim - Fall 2019 Lessons

Swimming lessons are offered for all ages and swimming levels at Credit Union Place.  Classes will begin on Saturday, September 21 for 8 weeks. 

Prices for Fall Swimming Lessons
The Preschool Level 1 course, presented by Confederation Bridge is offered free of charge. 

  • Public Lessons/Parent & TOT:
    • $94.50 per child ($84.50 if the child has an active CUP membership)
    • Saturday: 9am-11:45am
    • Sunday: 9am-12:55pm
  • Private Lessons (age 3–adult)
    • $126.00 for four- 30-minute classes. 
  • Semi-Private Lessons (age 3–adult) 
    • $82.00 for four, 30-minute classes

CANADIAN SWIM PATROL - Rookie/Ranger/Star

Rookie Patrol (SW#7): Swimmers continue stroke development with 50 m swims of front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke. Lifesaving Sport skills include a 25m obstacle swim and 15m object carry. First aid focuses on assessment of conscious victims, contacting EMS and treatment for bleeding. Fitness improves in 350 m workouts and 100 m timed swims.

Ranger Patrol (SW#8): Swimmers develop better strokes over 75 m swims of each stroke. They tackle Lifesaving Sport skills in a lifesaving medley, timed object support and rescue with a buoyant aid. First aid focuses on assessment of unconscious victims, treatment of victims in shock and obstructed airway procedures. Skill drills develop a strong lifesaving foundation.

Star Patrol (SW#9): Swimmers are challenged with 600 m work-out, 300 m timed swims and a 25 m object carry. Strokes are refined over 100 m swims. First aid focuses on treatment of bone or joint injuries and respiratory emergencies including asthma and allergic reactions. Lifesaving skills include defense methods, victim removals and rolling over and supporting a victim face up in shallow water procedures. Skill drills develop a strong lifesaving foundation.

Prerequisite: Must have completed and passed Swimmer 6 level.

Courses run every Saturday from September 21, 2019 to November 16, 2019 from 12:15pm to 1:15pm for 8 weeks. Please note that no courses will be held on October 12 (Thanksgiving)
