Carrie was elected to represent Ward 8: Wilmot in 2018 and acclaimed in 2022.

She has been a Government of Prince Edward Island employee since 2009. Areas of employment experience have been with the Western School Board, English Language School Board, Treasury Board Secretariat, Department of Transportation, Infrastructure & Energy, Department of Education and Lifelong Learning and Department of Finance.

Carrie has been appointed Council Representative for Governance, Human Resources & Communications, Vice Chair of the Finance Committee, Chair of Emergency Services, and Chair of the Communications & Engagement Ad Hoc Committee.

Carrie is married to Shawn and they live in Meadow Heights. Carrie has three children (Tanner, Jasmin and Caleb) and two grandsons (Brighton and Wilder).

Councillor Barbara Gallant

Barbara successfully ran in the 2022 Municipal Election for Summerside City Council, Ward 5: Hillcrest-Platte River. At the December 5th swearing-in ceremony, she was appointed the Council Representative to Municipal Services.

Barbara graduated in 1994 from the Atlantic Business of College in Fredericton, NB. Along with being a certified esthetician, she is presently the Executive Director of the PEI Veterans' Success Centre. Between 2003 and 2006 she was President of the Royal Canadian Legion, Summerside Branch, and for over thirteen years served in other positions with the Summerside Legion. She was a member and worker with the Ladies' Auxiliary for nine years and chairperson of the "Lest We Forget" committee for over ten years.

Barbara is involved in many groups in Summerside. These include Parkview Senior Citizens' Club, Culture Summerside, and Lobster Carnival Week.

Barbara is the mother of two sons and grandmother of three. They all live in Calgary, Alberta.
